I want to write an entry everday…

I feel like lately there has been so much talk of how the music industry is dying.  The drop of record sales thanks to illegal downloading is most likely a prominent factor in the industry’s demise.  It is a new era in the Music business and artists today must to learn how to cope with this problem before they announce plans of an album release.  Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails are perfect examples of artists who know how to avoid this problem.  So is there another reason besides illegal downloading that is making everyone buzz of the death of the music industry?  I have one word, and it is so much more than just a word.

DISNEY.

You know how in music there is fads or movements?  The 60s had a British invasion, The 70s brought in disco, The 80s had punk, new wave and hip hop, 90s welcomed grunge and pop. This generation, Disney owns our asses!  Ever since High School Musical (which don’t get me wrong I love) they think they can just take over the world.. Sad thing is they are.  Miley is a superstar.  Jonas Brothers ARE the NKOTB.  Pretty much every Disney affiliated “artist” or actor is booming right now.  Disney is the third largest media and entertainment corperation in the world and has a revenue of $35.510 billion.  This corperation is insane.  A reliable source tells me that yesterday ( in one day ) the Disney Store made upwards of $20,000.  Can you believe that!?  Parents think, “Oh Disney is great for my kids, I don’t have to put on any parental controls and my kids sit for hours contently.” ..NO.  Its taking money out of their pockets and they don’t even realize it.  Ok. enough babble about Disney, as much as I myself love certain aspects of Disney and give them credit where credit is due, I think it is time that REAL musicians take back their thrown.  Before Disney shows up at the grammys.

These 2 artists prove that the Music Industry IS NOT DEAD.

I watched the clock change from 1:59 to 3:00 AM.  I had such a bad double take.  With that being said, it is well passed my bedtime.  Good Night…Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening… to YOU. Whatever time it may be as you read this.  Thank You for reading.
